OUR PUBLISHING STANDARD

Editorial Policy

DreamCipher aims to publish clear, useful dream articles with honest limits. This policy describes the standards we apply to content, sources, AI assistance, and corrections.

Reader value and original work

Each article should answer a specific reader question and explain the details that make that topic different. We favor meaningful comparisons, clear reasoning, and practical reflection prompts over long lists of interchangeable meanings.

Closely related questions should be covered together when separate articles would repeat the same material. We do not consider extra length, repeated keywords, or cosmetic changes a substitute for useful content.

Interpretation and evidence

We distinguish three types of material: established information about dreaming, interpretations attributed to a specific historical or cultural framework, and tentative prompts for personal reflection. They should not be presented as equally supported facts.

Research about sleep or dreaming does not establish a fixed meaning for a snake, house, person, or other dream image. Historical theories should be identified as theories. Religious and cultural interpretations require context and should not be generalized across a whole community.

Sources and attribution

For factual claims, our standard is to consult relevant original research, authoritative educational resources, or identifiable historical and cultural sources where appropriate. A source must support the specific claim; a familiar website name alone is not evidence.

We do not permit invented citations, quotations, statistics, expert credentials, or verification dates. Hypothetical examples should be labeled. Where a claim cannot be supported, it should be qualified, omitted, or held for further review.

AI-assisted content and images

We may use AI tools to help organize topics, draft text, refine wording, or create editorial illustrations. AI output is not treated as a verified source or as professional advice.

Our publishing standard requires an editor to review drafts for unsupported statements, repetition, unclear wording, relevance, and appropriate limits. An AI-generated image illustrates a topic; it is not a photograph of a reader’s experience or proof of an interpretation. We do not claim expert or clinical review unless a qualified reviewer is actually identified.

Sensitive topics and reader safety

Articles involving grief, fear, illness, relationships, or distress should use respectful language. We avoid sensational claims that a dream proves infidelity, pregnancy, illness, a curse, impending death, or a divine instruction.

We do not diagnose readers or prescribe treatment. Persistent distress or sleep difficulties belong in a conversation with a qualified professional, not an online symbol dictionary.

Corrections, updates, and independence

Readers can report a concern through Contact Us. Please include the URL, the statement in question, and a supporting source when available. We assess substantiated reports and correct material errors; substantial changes should be noted where appropriate.

Publication and review dates must reflect actual events. We do not change dates simply to imply freshness. Advertising does not determine the interpretation of a dream. Paid placements, affiliate relationships, or sponsored material must be disclosed when present.
